Why Insulate?
Around half of the greenhouse gases which cause climate change are generated from everyday activities such as driving your car, heating your home and using home comforts like televisions, patio heaters and security lights. All of these things have an impact on climate change and the government is now looking at ways of reducing the UK’s carbon output to fall in line with European targets. The UK has committed itself to reducing carbon emissions by 20% by the year 2010 and by as much as 60% by 2050. One initiative set by the government is the Energy Efficiency Commitment which provides grants to householders to help them to improve the efficiency of their homes. Given the dramatic increase in the price of domestic fuels recently, we think you’ll agree, there’s no better time to think about ways of reducing your fuel consumption whether at home, on the road, or at work.
